Since the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) was formed in 2019, it has operated three legacy consumer facing brands: the Money Advice Service, The Pensions Advisory Service and Pension Wise.
MaPS was created as a single body to bring together financial guidance services and content, making it easier for customers to find what they are looking for in one joined-up service. We can fulfil our obligations and achieve our goal by consolidating the multiple brands to create a single service.
Consolidating three brands into one means we will provide a better and enhanced consumer experience – a single source of information and guidance where information can easily be found in one place.
Our new consumer facing brand will be MoneyHelper.
MoneyHelper is now live in Beta form at www.moneyhelper.org.uk.
This is a vital part of the process, which will allow us to continue testing and gathering important feedback ahead of the full launch. During this time, our legacy brands – the Money Advice Service, Pension Wise and The Pensions Advisory Service – will continue to operate as normal to ensure continuity for consumers. Aside from the homepage, the MoneyHelper website will not be visible on search results to avoid causing confusion for those we serve.
Once we have completed this next stage and are confident MoneyHelper is ready and fit-for-purpose to serve our customers from day one, we will proceed to the full launch. For this we have a working date of 30 June 2021.
The full launch of MoneyHelper will see the existing websites of the Money Advice Service, The Pensions Advisory Service and Pension Wise replaced and redirected to the new MoneyHelper website.
As we proceed, we will continue to engage with those impacted by the change to ensure as smooth a transition as possible, making sure that it’s also a smooth journey for consumers who connect with us via our partners and stakeholders.

Frequently asked questions
Why is MaPS creating a new brand?
Since the MaPS was formed in 2019, it has continued to operate the three legacy consumer brands of the Money Advice Service, The Pensions Advisory Service and Pensions Wise. MaPS was created as a single body to bring together these services to provide one destination allowing more people to find and access our services.
We carried out extensive research to find the most effective way of bringing our three legacy brands together as one. Through this research, we concluded that a new single consumer brand would be most effective at achieving our aims. Following consumer research, financial analysis and careful consideration of the available options, MoneyHelper was selected as the strongest performing brand name to take us forward.
When will MoneyHelper launch?
The MoneyHelper Beta website is now live at www.moneyhelper.org.uk. Launching in Beta will allow us to continue testing and gathering vital feedback ahead of the full launch. Once we have completed this next stage and are confident MoneyHelper is ready and fit-for-purpose to serve our customers from day one, we will proceed to the full launch. For this we have a working date of 30 June 2021.
What will happen to the existing brands?
While MoneyHelper is in Beta stage, our existing brands – the Money Advice Service, Pension Wise and The Pensions Advisory Service – will continue to operate as normal to ensure continuity for consumers. When we reach the full launch of MoneyHelper, the services previously delivered by our legacy organisation will be delivered by MoneyHelper. This means our legacy brands of the Money Advice Service and The Pensions Advisory Service will stopped being used, while Pension Wise will continue to operate as a service provided by MoneyHelper.
What is the difference between MaPS and MoneyHelper?
The Money and Pensions Service was created to act as our corporate brand, one that is protected through legislation. MaPS will remain our corporate brand, and how we engage with partners, industry stakeholders and partners. MoneyHelper is provided by the Money and Pensions Service and will be how consumers see and access us moving forwards.
What will happen to the existing websites?
The content currently on our legacy brand websites will move to the new MoneyHelper website – making it clearer and easier for people to find the information that they need to move forwards. From the full launch, website redirects will be live, so anyone who tries to access one of the legacy websites will automatically be redirected to the like-for-like page of the MoneyHelper website. The MaPS website will continue to function as our stakeholder-facing website.
Will the services provided by MaPS change?
No, the services that we provide will not change – they will just be delivered in one place by MoneyHelper.
What do we need to do ahead of the change?
We have published a toolkit containing all the MoneyHelper information and guidance you will need. You can use this toolkit to start thinking about how our new consumer brand will impact your organisation and the changes this will require. We will be working closely with our stakeholders and partners to support them through the transition.
